Compliance
The Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and the Hazardous Products Act govern textile product safety. The Textile Labelling Act and its regulations mandate fibre-composition and dealer-identification labels in English and French. Canada's Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (Bill S-211, effective 2024) imposes annual reporting on larger importers — Sedex SMETA 4-pillar audits support compliance.
Commit Cycle
Canadian home-textile buyers commit AW ranges in January–February and SS ranges in August. Principal sourcing events: Toronto Gift + Home Market (January and August), IIDEXCanada (Toronto, design and contract) and IDS Toronto (January). We ship from Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India to Vancouver, Montreal, Halifax in Canada. Typical ocean transit is 30 to 36 days plus customs clearance. For smaller orders we can consolidate via LCL groupage services direct to Canada inland container depots or bonded warehouses.
