Private Label · US
India-made, OEKO-TEX & GOTS certified bedding programmes for US department stores, home-specialty chains and design-led D2C brands and hospitality buyers.
Trade Partner
Abhi Home has manufactured home textiles in India since 1965. We supply duvet covers, quilts, bedspreads and sheet sets to US retailers, importers and hospitality groups under their own private-label programmes — from single-design repeat orders to 20-SKU seasonal ranges. Our facility is OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GOTS, GRS and BCI certified, and we hold Sedex, SA 8000 and BSCI social audits against the compliance frameworks typically required by US department stores, home-specialty chains, design-led D2C brands and hospitality buyers.

28–35 days ocean transit plus customs. Total order-to-DC lead time is typically 85–110 days from confirmation, depending on fabric development and sampling approval.
CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), California Prop 65, FTC fibre-content labelling, Country-of-Origin marking, 16 CFR flammability reports where applicable, SEDEX SMETA audit reports and OEKO-TEX certificates of compliance issued per shipment.
Contracting & Billing
All Abhi Home manufacturing is performed at our India facility. For US buyers who prefer domestic contracting and invoicing, we also operate a US-based trading entity that can act as the contracting counterparty — with product shipped direct from India under FOB, CIF, DDP or dropship terms depending on your programme. The Indian manufacturing entity remains the producer of record across all compliance documentation.
US Trade Intelligence
Beyond the generic sourcing process, successful India-to-US bedding programmes hinge on four country-specific realities: the India–US shipping corridor, the duty and trade-agreement landscape, US-specific textile and product compliance, and US retailer commit cycles. Each is covered below.
Trade Lane
Indian cushions reach the US on two principal routings. Via Suez to East/Gulf Coast: New York–Newark (28–32 days), Savannah (30–34 days) and Houston (32–36 days) on Maersk, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd and ONE services. Via Pacific / Trans-Pacific: Los Angeles / Long Beach (28–32 days via Singapore transhipment), Oakland and Seattle for inland-empire and Pacific-NW distribution. Red Sea diversions have added 10–14 days to Suez routings in recent periods; Pacific routings have become cost-competitive as a result.
Duty & FTA
Bedding products classify under HS 6302.21 (printed cotton bed linen), HS 6302.31 (cotton bed linen, other) and HS 6302.22/6302.32 (synthetic bed linen). The US does not currently have a free-trade agreement with India. India's GSP (Generalized System of Preferences) eligibility was terminated by the US in 2019, so MFN duties apply to Indian-origin home textiles — typically in the mid-single-digit percentage range for HS Chapter 63 lines, depending on composition. The US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) classification should be verified per shipment; we provide the HS breakdown with every commercial invoice. Importers of record should ensure compliance with Section 301 tariffs are not applicable (Chapter 63 home textiles of Indian origin are not subject to Section 301, which targets China-origin goods).
Compliance
Five US regimes are relevant. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) enforces 16 CFR 1632 (mattress flammability) and 16 CFR 1633 (mattress pad and bedding standards). The FTC Textile Fiber Products Identification Act mandates fibre-composition, country-of-origin and manufacturer identification labels. California Proposition 65 imposes additional warning obligations for chemical content. TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) covers chemical restrictions. Major US retailers additionally require CPSIA compliance for cushions marketed to children, and social audits through Sedex SMETA or WRAP. We supply the relevant test reports and certificates per shipment.
Commit Cycle
US home-textile buyers commit Spring/Summer ranges in August–September for February delivery and Fall/Holiday ranges in January–February for July–August delivery. Evergreen core programmes run continuous replenishment. The primary US sourcing moments are NY NOW (New York Market Center) in February and August, High Point Market (North Carolina, April and October) for furniture-adjacent home textiles, and Las Vegas Market (January and July) for West-Coast-based buyers. Ambiente Frankfurt (February) and Heimtextil (January) draw a significant US-buyer contingent for European sourcing. The LA Mart hosts West-Coast-focused trade events year-round.
Bedding Range for US Buyers
Every bedding range below can be produced in GOTS organic cotton, BCI cotton or linen blends, in thread counts from 144 TC to 400 TC, with print, yarn-dye, jacquard and embroidery finishing. Full product detail on the main Bedding page.
US Compliance
US retailers specify OEKO-TEX Standard 100 across most home-textile programmes, with GOTS, GRS and BCI increasingly required by premium and D2C brands. Our manufacturing holds SA 8000, BSCI and Sedex SMETA social audits — the frameworks used by major US retailer vendor-compliance portals. We supply CPSIA and California Prop 65-compliant testing on request. Full certification detail on our Sustainability page.
