Duty & FTA
Throws and blankets classify under HS 6301.30 (cotton blankets and travelling rugs) and HS 6301.40 (synthetic blankets and travelling rugs). As an EFTA member, Norway is a party to the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), signed in March 2024. TEPA provides phased tariff reduction on Indian-origin textile exports to Norway — importers should confirm the current preference schedule with their Norwegian customs broker and ensure EUR.1 movement certificates accompany every shipment. Norwegian import VAT (25%) applies on CIF value plus duty.
Compliance
Norway, as an EEA member, applies EU REACH Regulation 1907/2006 through the Norwegian Environment Agency (Miljødirektoratet). EU Textile Labelling Regulation 1007/2011 applies and requires Norwegian-language fibre labels. The Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) enforces marketing-control and product-information rules.
