Bath Mats & Bath Rugs
Certified organic cotton bath mats and bath rugs — with the Transaction Certificate that makes the claim defensible
Organic Cotton
Any construction in our bath programme can be produced in certified organic cotton — tufted, reversible, crochet, shaped or kids'. What separates a real organic bath mat from a marketing claim is paperwork, so that is where we put the effort: we confirm which certificate your programme will carry before we quote, we flag the specifications that break certification, and we issue the Transaction Certificate with the shipment rather than waving a mill certificate at you. Where full GOTS is not the right commercial fit, we will say so and propose OCS, GRS or BCI instead.
Certification
A lot of bath mats are sold as organic on the strength of nothing more than a supplier's word. If you are putting an organic claim on a swing ticket in the EU, the UK or the US, you need documentation that survives a compliance review — and increasingly, one that survives a green-claims challenge.
So we work the other way round. We tell you which certificate your programme will actually carry before we quote it, we flag where a specification breaks certification — standard latex non-slip backing is the usual culprit — and we supply the Transaction Certificate with the goods, not just the mill's Scope Certificate. If a fully GOTS programme is not the right commercial fit, we will say so and propose OCS, GRS or BCI instead rather than stretching a claim.
| Certification route | GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for full organic programmes; OCS 100 and OCS Blended where organic content is partial; GRS for recycled content; BCI Better Cotton as an entry-level responsible-sourcing route. |
|---|---|
| What GOTS actually covers | GOTS certifies the fibre and the processing chain — spinning, dyeing, tufting, finishing and packing — plus social criteria at each stage. It is why a GOTS bath mat costs more than an “organic cotton” bath mat with no certificate behind it. |
| Constructions available | Every construction we make can be produced organic: tufted pile, cut & loop, flat-woven reversible, crochet, shaped and kids' mats. |
| Dyes | GOTS-approved low-impact reactive dyes. Undyed and naturally-pigmented cotton available for programmes that want to avoid dyeing altogether. |
| Standard sizes | 50×80 cm and 60×90 cm running; custom sizes and formats to brief. |
| Backing | GOTS-compliant backing options, or unbacked. Standard latex non-slip backing is not GOTS-compliant — this is the single most common thing buyers get caught out on, so we flag it at sampling every time. |
| Documentation | Scope Certificate at order stage and a Transaction Certificate with the shipment. We supply both as standard — a mill's scope certificate alone does not prove your specific goods were certified. |
| MOQ & lead time | Low, flexible MOQs, though certified organic yarn does carry a higher practical minimum than conventional. Sampling 2–3 weeks; certified bulk lead times run slightly longer because of the yarn traceability chain. |
Range
Any construction in our bath programme can be produced in certified organic cotton — tufted pile, reversible flat-weave, crochet, shaped and kids' mats. Rather than run a separate organic catalogue, we quote your chosen design in a certified yarn and issue the paperwork against that order.

Compliance
Every construction on this page can be produced to certified standards. Which certificate applies depends on the yarn and the programme, so we confirm it in writing at sampling stage — and the certificate travels with the shipment, not just the sales pitch.
Global Organic Textile Standard — for programmes built on certified organic cotton, covering the fibre and the processing chain through to the finished organic bath mat.
Tested for harmful substances on the finished article. Our default certification for bath programmes, and the one most retail buyers ask for first.
Global Recycled Standard and Organic Content Standard, for recycled-content and blended-organic programmes where full GOTS is not the right fit.
Sedex registered, SA 8000, BSCI, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 — the audit trail large retail accounts require before onboarding.

Buyer Questions
GOTS certifies the whole chain — fibre, spinning, dyeing, tufting, finishing and packing — plus social criteria at each stage, and it is independently audited. An uncertified “organic cotton” bath mat is a supplier claim with nothing behind it. If you are making an organic claim to consumers in the EU, UK or US, only the certified route is defensible.
Not with standard latex backing — it breaks GOTS compliance, and this is the single most common thing buyers get caught out on. The options are: supply the mat unbacked, use a GOTS-compliant backing where one fits your specification, or accept OCS certification instead of full GOTS. We raise this at sampling stage every time rather than letting it surface after the order.
Yes. We supply a Scope Certificate at order stage and a Transaction Certificate with the shipment. Ask any supplier for the Transaction Certificate specifically — a Scope Certificate only proves the mill is certified, not that your particular goods were produced under certification.
Yes, and the gap is mostly in the yarn plus the traceability administration rather than the manufacturing. Certified organic yarn also carries a higher practical minimum quantity than conventional. Where the numbers do not work for a first order, OCS Blended, GRS recycled or BCI Better Cotton give you a credible sourcing story at a lower cost.
GOTS approved, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GRS certified, OCS 100, BCI member, Sedex registered, SA 8000, BSCI, CTPAT, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and Higg Index verified.
Tell us the construction and volume you have in mind and we will come back with the right certification route, the real cost implication and the documentation you will receive.
