Bath Mats & Bath Rugs
Cut & loop, combo and carved tufted cotton pile — GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified, private label from India
Tufted Cotton
Tufted cotton is the heart of our bath programme — and the construction most of our retail customers come to us for. Dense ring-spun cotton pile, tufted and locked into a stable backing, then finished with a non-slip back and a bound, scalloped or ruffled edge. It is a genuinely absorbent bath mat that survives commercial laundering, not a decorative rug that happens to sit in a bathroom. Manufactured at scale in India since 1965, GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified, and available as a private-label programme under your own brand and labelling.
Construction
Tufting punches yarn through a backing cloth to build a pile, then locks it in place. It is what gives a cotton bath mat its depth, its absorbency and its recovery underfoot — and it is the technique we have built our bath programme around. Because the pattern is carried by the pile itself rather than by print, a tufted bath rug holds its appearance through repeated commercial laundering far better than a printed flat-weave.
We run cut & loop for two-level texture, combo tufting where a design needs both cut and looped areas in the same mat, and carved or embossed tufting where the pile is sculpted after tufting to create relief. Each gives a different hand, a different price point and a different shelf presence.
| Constructions | Cut & loop, combo tufted, carved / embossed tufted, high-low relief tufting, plain-cut pile |
|---|---|
| Fibres | 100% ring-spun cotton as standard. Cotton-rich blends, micro-polyester, bamboo and viscose available where the programme calls for a specific hand or drying speed. |
| Pile weights | Typically 1,200–2,200 GSM depending on construction and price point. Hospitality contract weights quoted separately. |
| Standard sizes | 50×80 cm and 60×90 cm as running sizes. 45×70 cm, 55×85 cm, 70×120 cm and contour / pedestal mats on request; fully custom for contract work. |
| Backing | Non-slip latex backing standard. Latex-free, TPR and unbacked options available — specify at sampling, as it changes both the cost and the wash instructions. |
| Finishing | Overlocked, bound, scalloped, ruffle-trim and fringed edges. Bespoke die-cut shapes handled on our shaped bath mats programme. |
| Certification | OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 as default; GOTS organic, GRS recycled, OCS and BCI cotton all available. |
| MOQ & lead time | Low, flexible MOQs — we would rather start small and grow the programme. Sampling typically 2–3 weeks; bulk lead time confirmed against your ship window at order stage. |
Current Range
A selection from our running tufted bath mat and bath rug range. Every design shown can be recoloured to your palette, resized, rebranded and relabelled — these are starting points for a private-label programme, not a fixed catalogue.

AH-BT-BM-004
Horizontal ribbed stripe texture with a dotted stitch border in a tonal deeper shade. Dense tufted cotton pile with good recovery underfoot. A soft-palette core line for lifestyle and department-store bath programmes.

AH-BT-BM-005
Tufted ivory ground finished with a scalloped outer edge — a shaped silhouette that photographs well in e-commerce grids and reads as a considered design piece rather than a commodity bath rug.

AH-BT-BM-007
All-over cobblestone motif tufted to create a tactile, pebbled surface underfoot. Natural undyed-look ground that suits organic and neutral bath ranges — and the tufted route to a stone texture, where our pebble-stone designs take the woven route.

AH-BT-BM-008
Two-tone damask pattern in tufted cotton — a classical print translated into pile. Strong seller into coastal, Hamptons and traditional bath assortments.

AH-BT-BM-011
Tufted blocks laid in a brick grid, creating a structured geometric surface. A quiet architectural pattern that works across both contemporary retail and boutique hospitality.

AH-BT-BM-012
Chevron tufted throughout in a single ivory colourway — pattern carried entirely by pile direction rather than dye, so it holds its look through repeated laundering.

AH-BT-BM-014
The two-tone colourway of our brick grid tufted mat — cream ground with blush blocks. Coordinates with the ivory version for a two-SKU shelf story.

AH-BT-BM-015
Linear geometric tufting in a cream and blush palette. Cleaner and more graphic than our floral and damask lines, aimed at modern minimalist assortments.
Compliance
Every construction on this page can be produced to certified standards. Which certificate applies depends on the yarn and the programme, so we confirm it in writing at sampling stage — and the certificate travels with the shipment, not just the sales pitch.
Global Organic Textile Standard — for programmes built on certified organic cotton, covering the fibre and the processing chain through to the finished bath mat.
Tested for harmful substances on the finished article. Our default certification for bath programmes, and the one most retail buyers ask for first.
Global Recycled Standard and Organic Content Standard, for recycled-content and blended-organic programmes where full GOTS is not the right fit.
Sedex registered, SA 8000, BSCI, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 — the audit trail large retail accounts require before onboarding.

Buyer Questions
In practice, none — they are the same product. “Bath mat” is the more common term in the UK, Australia and India; “bath rug” is used more in the United States, usually for the larger sizes. We list both because buyers search for both. If you brief us on a bath rug, we will quote you a bath mat, and vice versa.
Yes. Send us a physical sample or a clear photograph with dimensions, and we will come back with a counter-sample. We can match pile height, GSM, construction and colour. Where a design is protected by a third party's IP we will tell you and propose a distinct alternative instead.
Yes. Our standard tufted cotton bath mats are machine washable at 30–40°C. The one variable to watch is the backing: standard non-slip latex has a temperature ceiling, so if your programme needs high-temperature or industrial laundering — typical for hotel contracts — tell us at sampling and we will specify an unbacked or laundry-safe construction.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is our default. GOTS is available for organic cotton programmes, GRS for recycled content, plus OCS and BCI. We supply the transaction certificate with the shipment, not just the mill certificate.
We work to low, flexible MOQs and would rather start a relationship with a small first order than lose it over a quantity threshold. MOQ depends on the construction, the number of colourways and whether the design is from our running range or fully bespoke — ask us against your actual brief and we will give you a real number.
Request the full tufted bath mat and bath rug catalogue, ask for physical samples, or brief us on a design you want counter-sampled.
