Six Decades of Home Textile Manufacturing from India

Abhi Home has manufactured home textiles in India since 1965. Across three generations, the business has grown from a single-loom operation into a vertically integrated private-label OEM — running fabric development, printing, dyeing, embroidery, making-up and QA in-house. We supply home textile to international retailers, importers and hospitality groups across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

The business operates entirely through private-label contract manufacturing. We do not sell under our own brand in retail. Every programme runs under the buyer's care label, tech pack, packaging spec and compliance framework — with full chain-of-custody documentation against OEKO-TEX, GOTS and GRS where required.

Six Categories. One Indian Facility.

Abhi Home manufactures home textiles across six categories — each under full OEKO-TEX, GOTS and GRS scope, each with dedicated development teams, each with its own compliance framework.

Why International Buyers Source Home Textiles From India

India holds three compounding advantages for home-textile manufacturing: the world's second-largest cotton fibre supply, the most extensive hand-craft heritage (block printing, kantha quilting, hand embroidery, crochet, hand-tufting), and the largest OEKO-TEX-certified production base of any sourcing country. No other origin combines all three at export scale.

Beyond the raw supply-chain advantages, India offers something structurally unique: a simultaneous mastery of hand-craft technique and industrial-scale compliance. A certified Indian manufacturer can produce 500 pieces of hand-block-printed cotton on Monday and 5,000 pieces of jacquard on Tuesday — under the same OEKO-TEX scope, the same SMETA audit, and the same vendor-portal compliance framework. No other sourcing region offers this combination.

A Home Textile Exporter Rooted in Panipat

Abhi Home manufactures in Panipat — the city known as the "Textile City of India" and the country's single largest cluster for home textiles. More than half of India's home-textile exports originate from the Panipat belt, supported by a dense ecosystem of spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing and made-up units. Sourcing from a Panipat-based manufacturer means shorter development cycles, deeper fabric availability and a labour base that has specialised in cushions, throws, bedding, bath and kitchen textiles for generations.

As a direct home textile exporter — not a trading house or buying agent — we ship under our own export documentation from Mundra and Nhava Sheva to ports across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Buyers contract the mill that owns the production floor, which means one point of accountability for sampling, compliance, quality and on-time shipment, and FOB pricing with no intermediary margin. For buyers who prefer to contract domestically, Abhi Home also operates a US-based trading entity, with goods shipped direct from our Indian facility under FOB, CIF or DDP terms.

What Makes Abhi Home Different

60 Years of Continuity

Founded 1965, now in its third generation. The same family has run the business across six decades — which means traceable supplier relationships, institutional quality knowledge, and buyer relationships that survive generational transitions.

Vertical Integration

Almost the entire process runs in-house — fabric sourcing, weaving, dyeing, printing, embroidery, making-up and final QA. With virtually no sub-contracted workshops there are no traceability gaps, and every compliance audit covers the full production chain.

Full Certification Stack

OEKO-TEX, GOTS, GRS, BCI, Sedex SMETA, SA 8000 and BSCI — every certification international retailers typically require, held at facility scope and maintained with annual audit cycles.

US Trading Entity

In addition to the Indian manufacturing entity, Abhi Home operates a US-based trading entity for buyers who prefer domestic contracting and invoicing, with product shipped direct from India under FOB, CIF or DDP terms.

Craft & Scale Combined

Hand-block printing, embroidery and kantha quilting alongside jacquard weaving and industrial quilting — all under one compliance scope. Few Indian manufacturers offer both craft and scale in-house.

Private-Label Focus

We do not compete with our buyers at retail. 100% of production is private-label OEM under the buyer's brand label, tech pack and packaging spec. Your designs stay your designs.

Retailers We Supply From India

Our shipments reach international retailers across 4 continents. We maintain dedicated buyer programmes in our priority markets, each with port-specific logistics, compliance frameworks and cultural-fit design archives.

Buyer Questions

Who are the leading home textile manufacturers in India?

India has hundreds of export-grade home-textile manufacturers running vertically integrated facilities with OEKO-TEX, GOTS, GRS, BCI and Sedex certifications. These mills supply international retailers under private-label OEM programmes across bedding, cushions, bath textiles, kitchen linen, throws and pouffes. Abhi Home has manufactured in India since 1965.

What product categories do Indian home textile manufacturers cover?

The standard export categories are bedding (duvet covers, sheet sets, quilts), bath textiles (bath mats, shower curtains), kitchen linen (tea towels, aprons, table linen), cushions and cushion covers, throws and blankets, and pouffes and floor seating. Abhi Home manufactures across all six categories in-house.

Which certifications matter when sourcing home textiles from India?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for product safety, GOTS for organic cotton chain-of-custody, GRS for recycled content traceability, BCI for sustainably grown conventional cotton, and Sedex SMETA / SA 8000 for social compliance. International retailers typically require the mill to hold a subset of these depending on programme.

What is the typical MOQ for Indian home textile manufacturers?

MOQs vary by category and construction. Abhi Home keeps MOQs low across all categories — cushions, bedding, bath, kitchen linen, throws and pouffes — sized to programme requirements. Sampling-stage MOQs are kept lowest to support buyer development cycles.

How long does an Indian home textile manufacturer take to deliver?

Counter-samples 10–14 days, pre-production samples 21 days, bulk production 45–90 days depending on category, plus 21–35 days ocean transit. Total order-to-DC typically runs 95–140 days for first-run programmes.

Can Indian home textile manufacturers supply the US market?

Yes. Major Indian home-textile manufacturers supply US department stores, home-specialty chains and D2C brands under CPSIA, California Prop 65 and FTC fibre-labelling compliance. Abhi Home additionally operates a US-based trading entity for buyers who prefer domestic contracting with direct-from-India shipment.

Where in India is Abhi Home located?

Abhi Home manufactures in Panipat, Haryana — known as the "Textile City of India" and the country's largest home-textile cluster, accounting for more than half of India's home-textile exports. Being inside the Panipat belt gives us deep fabric availability, a specialised made-up workforce and short development cycles across cushions, throws, bedding, bath and kitchen textiles.

Are you a direct home textile exporter or a trading house?

Abhi Home is a direct manufacturer and exporter — we own the production floor and ship under our own export documentation, not as a buying agent or trading house consolidating from third-party workshops. For buyers that prefer domestic contracting, we also invoice through a US-based trading entity, with goods shipped direct from our Panipat facility under FOB, CIF or DDP terms.
